Place. Memory. Reimagined.

Adrian Luces has always been fascinated by cities. Their architecture. Their energy. Their landmarks. Their skylines. And perhaps most importantly, the memories we attach to the places we have experienced. That fascination became Scraperscapes, Adrian’s distinctive collection of contemporary visual art that transforms his original photography into vibrant, multi-layered interpretations of cities, landscapes and iconic places.

Rather than simply documenting a place as it appears, Adrian deconstructs and reimagines it. The result is something familiar, yet entirely new. Seeing a Place Differently.

A Scraperscape begins with Adrian’s own photography, much of it captured during his travels. Through a creative process he calls “Scaping,” individual photographs are layered, manipulated, juxtaposed and reconstructed to create a new visual landscape. Iconic architecture may appear beside unexpected details. Perspectives shift. Buildings overlap. Familiar landmarks emerge from within other images. And the longer you look, the more you discover.

A Scraperscape isn’t intended simply to show you a city. It invites you to experience it again. Art, Architecture & Memory!

Our relationship with a place is rarely just visual. A skyline can remind us of where we grew up. A building can recall a particular moment. A street can transport us back to a journey, a relationship or another chapter of our lives. That relationship between architecture, place and memory is central to Adrian’s work. From Toronto and New York to Paris, Aspen, Montréal and beyond, his images celebrate not only what makes a place visually distinctive, but also the emotional connection we develop with the places that become part of our stories.

From Photography to Art. Scraperscapes began with Adrian’s fascination with photographing architecture and evolved into an entirely new form of creative expression. His collections now encompass cities, landscapes, ski destinations and natural environments across Canada, the United States and beyond. The work is produced primarily on premium ChromaLuxe metal and acrylic, mediums whose depth, luminosity and contemporary finish complement the colour, architectural detail and dimensional quality of the images.

Adrian’s work has been exhibited internationally and commissioned by individuals and organizations, including The National Club of Toronto, where his work became part of the celebration of the Club’s 150th anniversary. His SkiScapes collection has also been exhibited in Aspen, Colorado, where an Aspen Portrait became one of the collection’s signature works.

The Artist’s Eye. Scraperscapes represents another expression of something that has followed Adrian throughout his creative life: the desire to take something familiar and encourage people to experience it differently. In music, that might mean interpreting a familiar song through another voice.
In communication, it means discovering possibilities within a voice we use every day. And in his visual art, it means taking buildings, skylines and landscapes we think we know and reconstructing them into something we have never quite seen before.

Look closely. Then look again. There’s always something else to discover.

EXPLORE SCRAPERSCAPES

View Adrian’s full collection of metal art at: scraperscapes.com

SCRAPERSCAPESArchitecture.
