It’s Not Just About What You Say … It’s About How You Sound When You Say It.
Voice • Presence • Performance
Your voice is one of the most powerful instruments you possess.
Long before people fully process your words, they are responding to how you sound, your confidence, energy, authority, authenticity and presence.
As founder of Vocal Impression, Adrian Luces helps executives, professionals and leaders discover how to use the full potential of their voice to communicate with greater confidence, credibility and impact.
Drawing upon decades of experience as a singer, performer, producer and communicator, Adrian approaches professional communication from a perspective that is distinctly different from traditional public-speaking training. Because great communication isn’t simply about delivering information. It is about creating connection.
Your Voice Is Part of Your Leadership: We spend enormous amounts of time thinking about what we’re going to say. Far less attention is given to how we’re going to say it. Yet two people can deliver exactly the same words and create entirely different impressions.
Pitch. Pace. Projection. Breath. Energy. Pauses. Posture. Presence.
Together, these elements influence whether we sound confident or uncertain, engaged or detached, authoritative or tentative, authentic or rehearsed.
Adrian helps clients become aware of these signals and learn how to use them effectively, without losing the qualities that make their voice uniquely their own. The objective isn’t to give you a different voice. It’s to help you discover the power already within yours.
The 9P’s of Performance: At the heart of Adrian’s approach is his signature 9P’s of Performance. A framework developed from his experience in music, vocal technique, performance and professional communication.
PRANA / PNEUMA — Breath
The foundation of the voice. Effective breathing supports vocal strength, control, calmness and confidence.
POSTURE — Physical Presence
How you carry yourself affects how you breathe, how you sound and how others perceive you.
POISE — Presence Under Pressure
The ability to remain centred, confident and authentic when the stakes are high.
PROJECTION — Being Heard
Using breath, resonance and energy to allow the voice to carry naturally without forcing.
PREPAREDNESS — Knowing Your Message
Understanding your material, audience and objective allows you to communicate rather than simply recite.
PITCH — Vocal Variety
Variation creates emphasis, emotion and interest—and helps keep an audience engaged.
PACE — Giving Ideas Room to Land
The speed of delivery and the strategic use of silence can dramatically influence understanding and impact.
PRACTICE — Making It Natural
Practice transforms conscious techniques into instinctive communication habits.
PASSION — Creating Connection
Technique matters. But passion, conviction and genuine engagement are what make people want to listen.
Communication in the Age of AI: Artificial intelligence can now write a presentation, prepare talking points, create a speech and generate polished language within seconds. That makes something else increasingly valuable: the human being delivering it. Technology can help us determine what to say. But human beings still respond to confidence, warmth, conviction, humour, vulnerability, authenticity and presence. They respond to someone who genuinely believes what they are saying. As communication becomes increasingly technology-assisted, Adrian believes our ability to communicate human to human will become more important, not less.
